Green Leggings, White socks, Black shoes.

Tonight, I went to an opening in Chelsea at the Buia Gallery for friend Kadar Brock. Kadar makes paintings that incorporate geometric shapes, 3-dimensional form, and memories of digitized landscapes painted in oil, flashe, acrylic, and spraypaint on canvas. His work radiates post-pop colors from the 80's. It feels new wave, progressive, and offers an intelligent point of arrival, bridging the gap between now and 1985. His current work, "Heaven is a place on Earth" just might takes its title reference from a Belinda Carlisle song. Several paintings based solely in one dominant "non-color" such as white or black peaked and kept my interest as I strolled through the gallery, wine in hand. A favorite, "Midday Morning Mist", 2007 is featured in the above photo.

Chelsea

I never go to New York City these days
Something about the buildings in Chelsea just kills me
Maybe in a month or two,
Maybe when things are different for me,
Maybe when things are different for you
You know all of this shit, just sticks in my head.

Is there anything different these days?
The light in her eyes goes out
I never had light in my eyes anyways
Maybe things are different these days.

Its good for everybody to hurt somebody once in a while
The things I do to people I love shouldn't be allowed
Something about the buildings in Chelsea just kills me
Something about the buildings in Chelsea just kills me

Is there anything different these days?
The light in her eyes goes out,
I never had light in my eyes anyways
Maybe things are different these days.

I dream I'm in New York City some nights.
Angels flow down from all the buildings
Something about an angel just kills me
I keep hoping something will

Is there anything different these days?
The light in her eyes goes out,
I never had light in my eyes anyways
Maybe things are, maybe maybe maybe
Maybe things are, maybe maybe maybe maybe things are different,
Maybe things are different these days
The light goes out.

I never had light in my eyes anyways
Maybe things are different......these days.
